## Our Online Free Calculator Allows You To Perform Simple Arithmetic Operations With Whole Numbers And Decimals.

Learning to work with numbers can be challenging, but not when you have the right tools. That's where our free online calculator comes in! Perform basic math operations from the comfort of your computer.

Though a calculator like this one is useful for any arithmetic operations, it really comes in handy when you start multiplying and dividing large numbers. It also helps you complete simple order of operation (PEMDAS) problems. It won't show you how to get to an answer, though, so make sure you practice your math on paper to better understand how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide!

Now, let's get acquainted with our free online calculator.

## Buttons and Parts

The best way to start using our online calculator is to get to know what each button is for.

- AC (All Clear): clears all previous content and formulas from the system
- Numbers: numerals 1 to 9
- Decimal point (.): for numbers with decimal places (e.g., 1.25, 2.3, etc.)
- Operations: addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), division (/)
- Equal Sign (=): gives you the answer to your formula
- Top Field: where you will see the answer after you complete an operation

## How to Solve Problems Using Our Calculator

Should this be the first time you're using a calculator, don't worry! We'll show you how.

### Addition

Say you have a word problem asking you to find the total amount of eggs in a basket. The egg lady already had 5 eggs. She adds 8 more. In this case, you will be performing addition.

- Press AC to reset the calculator.
- Enter the number 5 into the calculator. This number is your
**addend**. Addends are numbers that you add together. - Press "+" to tell the calculator to add.
- Enter your other added, which is 8.
- Press "=" (the equal sign) to find the answer or the
**sum**of the two numbers. Your answer will be "13."

When working with more than two addends, simply key in each number separated by the addition sign ("+") before pressing the equal sign.

### Subtraction

The opposite of addition is subtraction. In this case, the egg lady put 10 eggs in the basket. Later, she removed 2 eggs because she found cracks in the shell. How many are still in the basket?

- Press AC to reset the calculator.
- Enter the number 10 into the calculator. This number is your
**minuend**, your starting value. - Press "-" to tell the calculator to subtract.
- Next, input the numer 2. Two is the
**subtrahend**, the number you'll subtract from the minuend. - Press "=" (the equal sign) to find the answer or the
**difference**of the two numbers. Your answer will be "8."

### Multiplication

Multiplication makes adding the same number over and over again easier. There are five dozen eggs in a basket. You need to know the total number of eggs in that basket. A dozen means 12, and since there are 5 dozens in the problem, you will count 12 eggs, 5 times.

- Press AC to reset the calculator.
- Enter "12" in the calculator. Twelve is your
**multiplicand**. - Press "*" or "x" to multiply.
- Press "5." Five is your
**multiplier**; how many times you need to add twelve. - Press "=" (the equal sign). The
**product**, or answer, is 60.

### Division

Now, let's review division. The egg lady has 36 eggs in her basket. You need to separate these eggs into dozens. How many dozens are in 36?

- Press AC to reset the calculator.
- Enter "36" in the calculator. This is the
**dividend**, the number you will divide. - Press "/" or "÷," to divide.
- Press "12." Twelve is your
**divisor**, the number you need to divide by. - Press "=" (the equal sign). The
**quotient**, or answer, is 3. There are 3 dozen eggs in the egg lady's basket.

Using our online free calculator is very simple. Just enter your digits, select the right operation, and see your result!
