how do you make "a" the subject in this equation: X=1+a/1-a ?

Please read the posting rules and follow them. I suspect you really mean

X = 1 + a/(1-a)

which is not what you wrote.

The poster may have meant X=(1+a)/(1-a).
Hopefully The Math Genius will give us a reply.
