Writing Percents as Decimals
The student will be able to:
- Convert whole-number and decimal percents to decimal numbers.
- State the procedure for converting a percent to a decimal.
- Explain the connection between place value and percent to decimal conversions.
- Apply percent to decimal conversion procedures to solve problems.
Writing Percents as Fractions
The student will be able to:
- Define greatest common factor.
- Convert whole-number and decimal percents to fractions.
- Apply the GCF method to reduce fractions to lowest terms.
- Apply percent to fraction conversion procedures to solve problems.
Percents Less Than 1 or Greater than 100
The student will be able to:
- Convert percents less than 1 to decimal numbers.
- Convert percents greater than 100 to decimal numbers.
- Convert percents less than 1 and percents greater than 100 to fractions in lowest terms.
- Convert decimals to percents less than 1 and to percents greater than 100.
- Apply conversion procedures for percents less than 1 or greater than 100 to solve problems.
