- Compute the circumference of a circle, given the radius.
- Compute the diameter and radius of a circle, given the circumference.
- Make connections between circumference and the real world.
- Apply circumference procedures to solve problems.
Area of Circles
The student will be able to:
- Define pi.
- Recognize the difference between circumference and area of a circle.
- State the formula and procedure for finding the area of a circle.
- Compute the area of a circle, given the radius.
- Compute the area of a circle, given the diameter.
- Compute the radius and diameter of a circle, given the area.
- Make connections between the area of circles and the real world.
- Apply the procedure for finding the area of a circle to solve problems.
